The first day of 'democracy'

We believed in our politics. We vowed to obey our RukunNegara. We pledged loyaties to maintain peace and harmony among Malaysians. We were told our government (50 years) did everything good for the rakyats. We self praised ourselves when we had KLCC, KLIA, Putrajaya and many record-breaking white elephants.
Too much of bragging, made us forgets about the meaning of democracy. Perhaps I was 'educated' to mind my own business. I used to believe politics has nothing to do with us, the rakyat. For most of us, cari makan is more important. I was wrong. I played my part as a family member in a family, but neglected my other family - the country.

Recent incident in Perak had enlightened me. When too long in power, our leaders had forgotten their responsibilities on rakyats. It seems they are more obsessed into gaining more power in the name of protecting Malaysia as a constitutional monarchy.

After half a decade, we had been through ups and downs (mostly downs). We used to be known as one of Rising Tigers of Asia. Today, we are still the same Malaysia, but our fellow Tiger siblings Taiwan and South Korea are already in first-world and we are going back to stone age? It is best to describe this as a transformation from Malaysia into Zimbabwe.

I had spent the recent 1 month sharing my thoughts about Perak constutional crisis. I will not go into details, as I believed everyone must have followed the news since day one. I am finally proud to be Malaysian, as for the time I can see our rakyats; Malays, Chinese and Indians united in a parallel consience to protest in this hostile takeover. This time it is very obvious that those in powers had manipulated laws into their own interpretion to surpress the emerging consience (that a change of government is needed). Afterall, it is not suprising since they have been in power for over 50 years, with firm control over law enforcers, civil servants and maybe courts too.

We had read 'real' news in MalaysiaKini, Malaysia Today, etc., and digested all comments that are favourable to Pakatan Rakyat. Online polls suggested majority WANTS DUN to be solved. Majority won't be wrong.

Just like bodhi tree where Sidhartta Gautamma got his mission, I feel I have to exercise my rights as a rakyat. Without rakyat, there will be no kingdom. Therefore, I took initiative to take another night time job - as a keyboard warrior.

America has its Statue of Liberty, today Malaysia has Tree of Democracy. This tree photo (in courtesy of anilnetto.com) symbolise the struggles by our HALAL Menteri Besar YB Ir Mohd Nizar, Speaker YB Sivakumar and the line ups of Perak state EXCOs.
